This fall when the school had its fall break my husband and I decided to take a vacation with our children even though only one of them goes to school at this time. We went to the San Diego area and took them to LEGOLAND. This was the first time any of us had been to LEGOLAND and we thought it was a really good place to take them that would have rides as well as a place that features something they all love.
All of my children enjoy playing with Legos and while there are times when they will not play with them for a while they always come back and play with them for days. They love to build the different sets that they have received or to just build whatever they feel like making with their Legos.
While there are still a lot of things that not all my children could do at LEGOLAND, they all found something to do and had a fun time including my youngest who wasn’t even two years old yet when we were there. He enjoyed going on some of the rides, and did not enjoy other ones at first, but eventually warmed up to it.
My three oldest had to ride the same ride multiple times. They were most into the driving school rides where they were able to drive little Lego cars around a track. My twins were able to drive at the jr. driving school about three times before their older brother and Dad found us again. My eldest drove at the driving school multiple times while his siblings were going on other rides nearby.
Although my youngest was too small for a lot of the rides we were still able to find things for him to do. One of his favorite things was to play in the Lego cars around the driving schools and honk the horns or set of the sirens. He had a lot of fun just playing in all the different areas.
Everyone in my family had a fun time and the kids enjoyed being able to ride rides, play on the play areas, and build with Legos. They had Lego building stations throughout the park as well as areas to let the children run and play on things like at a regular park. Lots of slides and climbing areas. My children had a favorite in the park and it was all made out of wood. We spent two days at LEGOLAND and each day they wanted to go to this play area multiple times.
It was an enjoyable time we had there. There were a lot of rides, some we went on multiple times and others we just did not get around to. We went in October so they were all decorated for Halloween and even had a Halloween night event that we did not attend since it was a different ticket than what we had bought. Seemed like something that could be fun to attend someday, but the decorations all over the park were enjoyable.
While we have had a few experiences with taking our children to Disneyland and while we love going there we found the trip to LEGOLAND was more affordable for our family at this time. We also wanted to go to a place that would be a little less crowded.
With all the other places we could have gone we enjoyed our times at LEGOLAND. There was something for each of us to do here. Have you ever visited LEGOLAND or have wanted to visit? Let me know your thoughts of your experience there.
